The Phiona Okumu Episode
Much like a mangy stray dust-coloured dog that gobbled up the piece of pie you mistakenly dropped to the ground after stealing it, 2 Broke Twimbos keeps coming back. And today we bring you some pearls, nuggets, gems and mealie kernels of wisdom from someone who knows a lot about the entertainment business in Africa. Her name is Phiona Okumu, and attached to her name is the influence associated with being the Editor of AfriPOP! Magazine and African music curator for The Guardian among many other things.
In this episode, Dan & Phil unlock secrets on how to make their hot fire mixtape successful, we analyze some African artists and their journeys towards (and away from) success. Look out for lessons from Ice Prince, K'naan, Tumi Molekane and others. Also, a look at ZimDancehall and bribery methods that Dan & Phil will accept. We close off the show with Tocky Vybz' high flying single Toti Toti.
It's happening! This is not a drill! You can finally return to your routines, Dan & Phil are BACK with that fresh new-new!! Dan is a father now, and he has profound wisdom to share, like "new parents are tired". The boys even get to talk about sport, like Formula 1 coming back to Africa (surprise it's Rwanda!) and what punishment should Manchester City get for cheating for over a decade? Oh and Phil has been outisde. A lot to discuss, enjoy!
