The Taponeswa Mavunga Episode
As you know, here on 2 Broke Twimbos we revel in our ability to connect to those who actually have a major influence in the entertainment industry. Few people are a bigger deal than Taponeswa Mavunga, currently working for MTV Africa as the head of talent & music, formerly of Warner Music. Taponeswa is a central cog in the machine behind many international artists' rise to fame, and she has (amazingly) given a cosign to 2BT.
Listen in as she describes her own story, how she started working in the music industry, working with acts like Jay-Z, Ed Sheeran, Rudimental, Estelle, Missy Elliot, Fabolous and more. Also she describes what needs to be done in Zimbabwe to insert ourselves into the world's periphery as well as how to get your music on MTV Base. We end off the episode with Taps' Zimbabwean song of the moment, Come From Far by Natty O of Kenako Music. Enjoy!
It's happening! This is not a drill! You can finally return to your routines, Dan & Phil are BACK with that fresh new-new!! Dan is a father now, and he has profound wisdom to share, like "new parents are tired". The boys even get to talk about sport, like Formula 1 coming back to Africa (surprise it's Rwanda!) and what punishment should Manchester City get for cheating for over a decade? Oh and Phil has been outisde. A lot to discuss, enjoy!
