#ThighsForJeaux Has Been Trending All Day: We Spoke To Its Architect To Get Some Answers

As we are in the grips of one of the most sweltering heat waves in recent times people within the SADC region have been clamouring for new and inventive ways to cool down. Various methods such as sitting on ice blocks and pocking holes in your dress pants for ventilation have been bandied about various body temperature regulation forums.

But if the scripts of Dante’s Peak and Volcano ever taught us something it is that the human resolve is strongest when confronted with insanely high temperatures.  Stepping into the lava singed shoes of Peirce Brosnan and Tommy Lee Jones is Cape Town’s sex positive social media thigh activist @Mijeaux.

Tired of seeing people who had been forced into wearing conservative and uncomfortably hot clothing for fear of body shaming she started the #ThighsForMixo movement.  This hashtag then evolved into the #ThighsForJeaux movement which has been trending on South African twitter for over 8 hours now.

I managed to get a few words from Mijeaux where she described the movement as an intersectional and inclusive sex positive movement to tackle body shaming.
