The 2 Broke Twimbos Sneak Into The BET Experience Africa 2015

The 2 Broke Twimbos Sneak Into The BET Experience Africa 2015

Once again the 2 Broke Twimbos have managed to take their depressing form of struggle international! Over the weekend Phil managed to attend the BET Experience Africa in Johannesburg with Napoleon Nyanhi from StarFM. The two intrepid Zimbabweans managed to gather some footage and photos from the event which you can view below.

For a full review of the day’s activities be sure to listen to the BET Experience podcast episode here. If you are too lazy to do that please allow us to provide a very brief summary of events.

  • Monique Bingham deserves all the awards.
  • Black Motion are still pretty good.
  • The celebrity basketball game should have got celebrities that can actually play basketball. Or at least catch a ball.
  • The Philly Dunk Squad were amazing.
  • Diamond Platnumz is one of the continent’s best live performers.
  • Flavour will steal you girl while you watch in horror and he will still find a way to make you dance.
  • AKA is still the Super Doro Mega. I have never seen a subpar live set from him.
  • Young Thug should have never been on the line up and was the most expensive filler act I have ever seen at a concert.
  • Raphael Saadiq is an underrated legend.  His live performances are just as good as his writing, production, and singing.
  • Mary J Blige delivered one of the best performances I had ever seen and somehow she didn’t manage to fit in all her hits into her set.
  • Maxwell was incredible.  He is so smooth he will steal your girl from Flavour while you and Flavour look on in horror as he recites the lyrics to “Pretty Wings”

Once again thank you to Multichoice Africa for facilitating this trip
